MEET THE TEAM

DR JUSTIN HOGAN
Hi, my name is Dr Justin Hogan! I graduated as a veterinarian in 2021 from the University of Pretoria’s Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital in South Africa. After graduating, I worked with our government’s Compulsory Community Service program, where I provided primary animal health care to any species that came through the door. Most days involved cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and of course dogs and cats, but I was also incredibly fortunate to work with iconic African wildlife, including white rhinos, elephants, and even lions.
I am deeply passionate about veterinary medicine and genuinely love what I do. I care about the animals, the people who love them, and the human-animal relationship as a whole. I appreciate the meaningful wins, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support patients and their owners through the more challenging and emotional cases too. My goal is simple: to be the best veterinarian I can be, and to make a positive difference every day.
In 2023, I moved to Australia, first to Central Queensland and later to South-East Queensland, where I found my way to this amazing, welcoming practice. My hope is to contribute to the community, make people feel heard, and be a voice for the animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Outside of work, I volunteer a couple of days each month with wildlife and particularly enjoy working with local species, reptiles, and conservation projects. At home, my wife and I share our lives with Everest the Golden Retriever, Kili the Jack Russell, Makalu the ginger cat, a coastal carpet python, and an ever-growing collection of chickens and guinea fowl. As the names of our pets suggest, we absolutely love mountains and the outdoors — especially camping, exploring, and getting happily dirty and hands-on at the farm.
